Reading your Notes list on terror made me think of this quote from Vought:

“We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected,” he said. “When they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains. We want their funding to be shut down so that the EPA can't do all of the rules against our energy industry because they have no bandwidth financially to do so.

“We want to put them in trauma.”

I’m thankful for your list because they’re clear about their plans for a terroristic onslaught. Love how one big piece is being true to myself. I can do that!!! It’s been a fun process that brings me joy.

Taking that long journey to figure yourself out after your sense of self was obliterated in high control religion…that is SO REAL. I’ve found myself leaning into my creativity more and more. Getting my hands messy in a creative project feels satisfying. And I also make it a habit to sing every day. Something about connecting to my singing voice empowers my embodiment and I feel like I can kick ass and take names.

I’ve been trying to sing too! The only singing I did for so long was worship music - I’m finally making space to sing again. 💛

This is SO GOOD. Thank you. I want to print it out and read it every day alongside Jessica Kantrowitz's "Good Morning, Friends." Anger is one of the most difficult emotions for me to let myself feel in a productive way, probably because I believed for so long that I needed to just. Get rid of it. (Spiritual bypassing yayyyyyy.) Music always helps, though. Good thing my favorite band has some yelling in their songs, LOL.

Thank you for this. I wish I could send it to everyone who needs it right now.

I've been listening to the Feminist Survival Project podcast by Emily and Amelia Nagoski. They share practical tools framed with their own personal experiences and other examples (and they're also autistic!) and it's been a real comfort for me.

I don’t read Notes (just a time management thing), so I didn’t find out about your viral moment until Rob Brezsny quoted it in his newsletter yesterday!

I’m so freaking excited for your art show. I wish I was close enough to visit!

Completely wild to hear about Alice millers conclusions. Authoritarians/evangelicals want the exact opposite - our obedient self, not our true self! 🤯
