Excuse me while I go all "well actually" on When God Was a Woman which largely been criticized by anthropologists, historians, and other experts (including ones working from a feminist perspective) for being too reliant on conjecture and speculation, and with a rather simplistic argument about ancient female-centric polytheistic religions being oppressed by newer, monotheistic patriarchal ones.
Buuut, I like thinking of When God Was a Woman as it's own sort of myth-making, of feminist imagining and re-imagining, that we need regardless of historical accuracy. From this perspective for me, Stone's searching for the divine feminine is a desire I can deeply, deeply empathize with, even if her methodology might not have been sound.
Wow I’m intrigued that Superman is neurodivergent and anti-fascist. I’d generally written off all the superhero movies.
I really enjoyed it and there are some incredibly cathartic moments in it. Also silly cheesy James Gunn stuff so be forewarned
OMG I love this post!!!! I will wear a nightguard forever probably. My favorite one is this one: https://smartguardrx.com/products/smartguard%C2%AE-dental-guard?srsltid=AfmBOooFwdMP32l594JrkG8i6v2LytpOYvozDWglp6k9nPGTB18yyDXY
Loved this random post!
buzzed bleach hair is the best!
I did not notice your nails in the photo until you mentioned them. :)
I am excited to check out When God was a Woman!
Love the bleach-up btw! Just got mine redone and it feels so fresh!
Greetings! This all made me so happy. Bonus happy for validating me and my night guard.
This post made me so happy 🤗
I loved Superman and the over-an-hour-long conversation it spurred with my family, including my mother-in-law. And your new haircut looks great!
