It was really hard to one among the answers you gave. I particularly want to add, I chose personal essays over podcast interviews—but the interviews were a VERY close second. They have been phenomenal and had so much staying power. I think we all feel a little less lonely when we read your essays, but hearing your voice in synergy with other voices doubles that impact. So I hope their low rating (so far) on this pole doesn’t dissuade you from doing them.

Can I choose all four replies for your last question? Only (kinda) joking...

I could gush about your newsletter and you for a while. So so grateful for you and this space.

The PDA topic is probably most pressing right now. My youngest is PDA, I'm 99% sure, and this morning was so hard. I'm following a couple PDA moms online who are super helpful. But today I'm back at, how do I help my kids get through school, especially my PDAer and his brother? Homeschooling would be terrible for me and therefore them, unless we had a 2-day a week program they could go to. There's a fantastic one but we can't afford it. I don't like (read: hate) teaching and had to teach my younger sisters multiple subjects throughout my high school/early adult years, so there's plenty of baggage around that. But the emotional toll that school takes on both of us (my PDAer and I) is exhausting. I worry about burnout for all four of my kids. I know this isn't sustainable. I'm in knots, so venting about it. Gah!

Imo all of these are good and the polls can help with what the balance should be, because I don't want you to think if I vote for one that we don't want the others or that they aren't good ideas. Like media reviews is low right now, but I think that's more a reflection of the ranking of urgent priorities than whether it alone is a good topic. In other words, a mix is great! I hope that makes sense!

Ooh! On the topic of reviewing media depictions of autistic characters - I would love to hear your thoughts on the Netflix show "Atypical." My teen & I watched that together last year and both enjoyed it - but I found myself wondering how accurate the depiction is considered to be, etc.

I am here for any of your thoughts that you share, DL! :)

I am so excited about the ideas you have for this substack! I love the deep stuff, but I need a lot of emotional buffering, so I love that you want to talk about other stuff. I am especially interested in the low demand lifestyle stuff. It's been in my mind a lot and I am having the hardest time figuring out what I want, let along how to make it low demand.

Media reviews of autistic rep sound fantastic. Stories are a major special interest of mine, so I am down for the deep dives.

I think it’s a great idea to break up the intense stuff with other content.

I hope this newsletter can be a nourishing space for you. I don’t think it’s worth activating the ethical ocd to make content for us.

And a nourishing space for you is a nourishing space for us as well.

Obviously we still need to talk about the intense stuff but I think its good to balance the cost to you.

☺️☺️☺️

Autism and witchcraft.

Claims that Kanye and North West are actually autistic (seen this going around)

Your tattoo looks amazing! I gave up on getting a tattoo when I was pretty immersed in a high control religious group. I might be slowly warming to the idea of getting one again now that I see such a variety of styles available.
