I totally forgot that Javelin does not actually end with "Shit Talk"! This feels important to me today as I hold all the contradictions of my life together. I contribute to my local paper sometimes (just very local stuff); they refused to publish my op-ed this week about Palestine. And there are apples at home that we picked from a local orchard, just waiting to be put into pie or made into apple butter.
I’m glad to know I’m not the only one that kept not making it to the end of the album! Gosh I’m sorry about the op-ed thing. Censorship on this issue has been wild to see over the past two years.
I saw today a video of a music teacher joyfully teaching kids in Gaza how to play guitar, violin, and harmonize to drown out the sound of drones. I think I get what you mean when you write you “fell in love with every act of bravery and courage I came across.” May free spirits experience liberation everywhere.

Thank you for this post. I needed the reminder that in the midst of it all I need to look for the glimmers of good, and I need to create more and work towards a world that I want to see (rather than passively accepting the world that is). Appreciate your work and your example!
